Tiered Margins — Individual

PDF · 64 KB

Margin requirements may change with market conditions — always check the latest published schedule before opening or adding to a position.

How Tiered Margins Work

Margin is calculated in slabs: the portion of your net open position that falls within each tier is margined at that tier's rate, and the amounts are added together. Growing a position only raises the rate on the exposure above each threshold — not on the whole position.

Tiers are applied automatically on the platform, so the margin shown on your account always reflects the current published schedule.

  • Defined per instrument group — from FX majors to equity CFDs
  • Based on your net open position size in USD notional
  • Applied automatically — no action needed on your side

Each slab is margined at its own rate — a larger tier only raises the rate on the exposure within that band, not on the whole position. Exact current rates for every instrument group are in the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Instead of a single flat rate, margin is calculated in slabs: each portion of your net position is margined at the rate of the tier it falls in, and the amounts are added together. Larger exposures therefore carry a higher overall margin requirement.

Tiers are defined per instrument across FX pairs, metals, and other traded products. The exact tiers and rates for each instrument are listed in the schedule on this page.

Your position may have moved into a higher tier, or the published schedule may have been updated in response to market conditions. The platform always applies the current schedule automatically.

The most recent schedule is always available on this page as a PDF. Check the document's update date before relying on the rates.
